Hoi An Ancient Town

Hoi An Ancient Town , located in the central Vietnam , belong to Quang Nam. In 1999 the UNESCO cultural heritage of Hoi An ancient town , as inscribed on the World Heritage List .



historical origin
5th century AD , in the Kingdom of Champa , Hoi An was once a port, named " big sea ". Development of the sixteenth century and became one of the most important trading center in Southeast Asia . In the eighteenth century , the kings of the Viet Nam power struggles long and bitter, forcing the development , an almost abandoned at the end , this natural harbor , and finally blocking Hoi . In 1880 the nineteenth century , the United Nations UNESCO Hoi An Hong Kong conducted a large-scale renovation , making it shine to its former glory .
Since ancient times because of the commercial exchange , China, Japan and southeast Asia , European merchant ships often even join Hong Kong , many Chinese and Japanese doing business in Hoi an , therefore, allows create Chinese here and separate living quarters in Japan. Although there was local authorities, but the Chinese and Japanese people can live here according to their national customs.
